On 13 May 2020 we visited the location where he had spotted this &#8220;new&#8221; buttercup. Lo and behold, we determined it was <em><strong>Ranunculus flabellaris<\/strong><\/em>. Since this was a Maryland state endangered species S1, we had our determination validated by other botanists. After doing some research we found out that according to the SEINET online database, this species has not be reported in Maryland since 1988. Congratulations to Chris for spotting this population.<\/p>\n<p>The exact location of this population is withheld.<\/p>\n<p><a
